IT begins.....

the offical cleanup of my office. I don't think I will make it this week, but I am sooooo going to try....my treat.....GOING TO THE LAKE when I get it all done.

for small lake miralces.....like being here :) We SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO love being at Duncan Lakes that we really sometimes pinch ourselves. I need to take more photos of our lake friends. Add the lake friends to our list of people who we like to spend time with.......THIS was the best decision EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure....

Why I am being so introspective today but......I am.....and just wanted to share some of my feelings.....

1. I just want to sit around and do NOTHING.
2. I can't decide if I want to be home or at the lake...I love them both and I miss my girls (my cats)
3. I am trying to be creative but nothing comes out...and when it does, it isn't my best work.
4. I want Clint Bowyer to have a good Cup race finish and get out of his slump.
5. I want to listen to music but I have the TV on...WHY?
6. I really really want Ron to stay home this week....
7. I do not want it storm tomorrow like predicted!
8. I think chinese food upsets my stomach and that upsets me....it is my FAV!
9. I do not think My Diamond Rio Boys look old at all (Sorry Sheri) but I was in front of Marty and he looks damm good.
10. I am struggling with my Cirle Journal that I so want to do....

Sometimes I forget.....

How much I still love Diamond Rio...well that was until the very first words came out of their mouths...then I remember!!!!! My very very favorite group in the world is Diamond Rio....and Cheap Trick...but I LOVE LOVE Diamond Rio. I always have and probably always will.

I have been to every one of their concerts in Nebraska and was NOT missing the only 15 miles from my house and it was worth it.

It took me a while, but when about 60 other people took off for the front of the Nebraska Cattleman's Ball there was no stopping me. I was headed to the front and I got there......even got to shake Marty's hand again.

THANK YOU DIAMOND RIO for producting some of my favorite songs and creating music that has a way of making me feel much better.

Sunday sunday......

...and all we have done today is run. We left home this morning and headed to a Wedding Reception in Lincoln. I got a chance to really drive my Brand New Eddie, that I so lovingly call Kandie and that was fun. We also saw some of the flooding occuring in Central and Southern Nebraska. We are certainly getting enough rainfall. Today was the first day in a couple of days it hasn't rained or stormed, which was a nice treat!!

I got to watch part of the NASCAR race at the Reception. Gotta LOVE a place that has the NASCAR race on :) BUT I totally missed what happened to Clint. All I know is my poor poor Clint has had the WORST luck the last three races. It is time to shake that and regain those points.



We topped off the day by stopping to overnight at our cabin in Duncan. Smart move being here, it is a beautiful evening. Doing our paperwork on the deck is the way to live. So I am going to stay here tomorrow as well. Which is just fine with me. Maybe I can get some scrapbooking caught up.......

I'll got alot to post, so watch past days for some updates!

It's a girls world....

..and my nephew was trapped in the middle of it. With lotions, baby supplies and candles...poor boy! :) hehehe

which leads me to this.....today I went to my SIL's baby shower. It was good to see my SIL's and my nieces and that awesome watermelon baby carriage my SIL made, it was sooooooo coooooool! I am excited for Amy having a girl, after those two boys. How exciting for them and all those ruffles and lace.

Later tonight is DIAMOND RIO at the Nebraska Cattleman's Ball and I CAN NOT WAIT!! It is suppose to rain and storm, but for Diamond Rio I can swim for it!!!!!! Leaving in a few to attend......WHOOOOO!!!!!!!

...or maybe just wild hair....prompted me to CUT MY HAIR! I told Rhonda as we were in Norfolk, that I was going to get my hair cut...so I did..here it is.

Momma's Wired.....

YES that is correct. My Mom is now offically a member of the Internet and email wired club. OK so there is NO offical club, but will pretend there is!

I think she is holding out on me. I think she is much more computer savy than she is leading on. This will be such a great thing for her. She can email the Grandkids, the kids, her friends and extended family. One of my friends was teasing me and asked me if I was going to get her on Facebook...I don't think she is ready for face book just yet....maybe in a week or two.

Speaking of in a week or two......DIAMOND RIO will be here in five days. Five days and counting. MAN where did time go??????????



I swear it was just yesterday that I found out they were coming to ALBION! The closets to me ever!! Maybe I could hijack there bus on the way out of town :) hehehe. I still LOVE my Diamond Rio. I mean come on...who can not love a group who loves NASCAR and Larry the Cable Guy!

OK.......well.....that is it for today. This morning before I left for Mom's......I played catch up. I scrapped two layouts and did four when I got home.....can it be.....my MOJO is back! We shall see.

Today I woke up again to RAIN!! Rain rain rain...will it EVER GO AWAY! I could NOT believe it when I woke up again to the sounds of rain on my roof. Don't get me wrong I LOVE that sound....but I think in the month of May....it rained almost everyday! ENOUGH! OK done with that vent :) Well sort of......



This is what happens when you get tooo much rain.....my solar lights at the lake.....disappear. Yes, disappear. That water is NOT suppose to be there. It is usually way UNDER that cement you see...and obviously my lights are not suppose to be drowning.......so needless to say............STOP ALREADY!!

June 1st...WHAT! June 1st. HOLY........but the topic today.........WHERE OH WHERE did our dock go??????



Under about two feet of flood water that is where. That thing leading our boat....that is our dock...and it is WHITE....there is water over the top, which just doesn't happen, until 2008.

..and Today was absolutely beautiful and lovely and would have been a gorgeous day to go out in the boat...but we can't. Duncan Lakes is flooding so no boating till the water goes down so we don't have wrecked retaining walls and ruined docks. Which is good but I sure wanted a boat ride........OH well....there is always next week!!

We sure do love our lake.

We aren't going to talk about my poor poor poor Clint today! Poor Clint...........all that way up to the front to CUT a tire...OK I talked about Clint.......well it was actually a suspension piece..... but he still has that look in his eyes. GO GET EM CLINT BOWYER!!!!!!!!!

THAT SUCKED! Pardon my french, but that was one hell of storm that came through here tonight.

I got my power back on about a half hour ago.....After hiding in the crapper closet I am just happy to be alive. It was pretty darn dark and hot in there....me, my computer bag, my planner bag, two cats, three stuffed animals, five blankets, two pillows, my purse, a cell phone, a flash light, a RADIO (that didn't work), five cans of diet coke, eight bud lights, a box of granola bars, and lots of prayers...I was scared crapless.....BUT all is well!

LOTS of rain...LOTS of flooding, but I am in one piece, the next time Ron leaves...I might skin him....NO I was fine..till my computer battery went dead.....that was NOT fun!

I gotta nothing else to post....

Journaling:I am a Stock car racing fan, there is NO doubt about that. I had the honor of sponsoring dirt driver Dave Anson for almost 20 years. The first time I realized that Dave wouldn’t be wheeling that #18 was so bittersweet for me. I was excited to have his son Jake taking over the wheel, but the realization that I would never see my driver behind the wheel of the #18 that he had driven for soooo long....through Bombers, Street Stocks to Modifieds......so here we are left to right - Driver Jr. - Jake, Kristin and Driver, Dave Anson.

There NOW I feel better.....

Robin ROCKS!!!

I must say that I am totally smitten with Robin Blakenship, as a person, a friend and a designer :) Her designs (aka as Mad Scrapper designs) are amazing. Here are two layouts that I created using her Wendi's World Kit and Adventures in Fun. Robin is the Featured Designer at Treasures to Scrap in June. I would certainly get over to TTS in June and take advantage of her being out Featured Designer! Her stuff is fun and totally matches her personality.



This layout I did for a lyrics Challenge at Tally Scrapper. The assignment was to hit shuffle on your MP3 player and scrap the first song that came up. Mine was Wrinkles by Diamond Rio....I have ALWAYS wanted to scrap that song and you can imagine how surprised I was when that was the song that came up!

ASK me one thing.....

I could care less about SOMEONE hitting the wall....NO WAY...THANK YOU LORD!!!!!. AND IT IS NOT Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon or Kyle Busch........................OMG Clint this whole night has SUCKED.......................BUT GO JEFF BURTON!

My family in Windsor Colorado is OK!!!!!! After a Tornado ripped through Windsor Colorado today...in the path we had Cindi, Michael, Lexi, Curtis and Linda (Michaels Mom)....and THANK THE LORD FROM HEAVEN ABOVE that it spared each one of you. It seems that Linda got the worst of it...BUT thank god you are OK.

Thank the lord Linda that you have Michael and Cindi to help you clean up. I am so glad everything is ok.

LOVE YOU ALLLLLL very very much....and I can't wait to see you all again...even though my sweet Curtis wanted to take Aunt Kristin's Husker Flag down......you are one of the only Buffs that I love :)

CONGRATULATIONS JESSICA

Today my beautiful and extremely talented niece Jessica graduated from Newman Grove High School. I am soooo incredibly proud of her!! She is smart as a whip and just a wonderful person. She needs to commended for graduating as the Class Valedictorian with a PERFECT 4.0 grade point average, not to mention numerous awards for academics and some athletics. She also received several scholarships. She is planning on Attending Morninside COllege in Sioux City Iowa.

She is such a gem.....I remember the day she was born. Uncle Ron and I had only been dating TWO WEEKS! Now, look at us. GOSH that time has flown by. I will never forget how Jesscia was so grown up at Grandpa's funeral and I was just a plain mess. I would have never made it through that day if it would have been for her.

I couldn't ask for a better Goddaughter. She is such an amazing girl. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH Jessica and I think you know that. I am soooo excited about your future. Uncle Ron and I love you to pieces!!

I have NO Idea what possessed me to go completely crazy and start tossing crap out of my closet last night. I think it might have been the fact that it was so full of clothes I never wear that I couldn't find what I wanted to wear. BUT at anyrate....I started off with over 100 short sleeve shirts and ended up with 38. I CAN NOT believe how easy it really was to let go of those shirts!! NOW on to the long sleeves......

100 Simple Secrets of Happy People.....

...is a little book that I got as a gift a few years ago. The little gem was written by David Niven. I came across this book while cleaning out our camper and remembered how much I enjoyed reading it, so I started of again.

The book isn't long chapters of reading but rather short little Essays that are easy to read and pack a punch.

Today, I want to share Chapter 11 - Friendship Beats Money. I love this quote from the book "If you want to know if people are happy, don't ask them how much money they have in the bank. Don't ask them how large their take-home salary is. Ask them about their friends. I think this is true in most cases......

About my friends. I have some classy ass friends. Ron and I have our share of people who we consider friends, but I truly believe losing friendships is worst than losing money. I could start post pictures of my friends, but first I'll forget some and really tick someone off and second....I don't have pictures of them all....

There are old friends who I have known my whole life and still love and trust. There are friends that I love like family. There are friends that I have in the past and currently work with. There are friends that happened by accident. There are my online friends. There are our friends who just make me genuinely happy to be around....well I could go on.

But trust me when I tell you....a good friend is worth more than diamonds or gold....at least to me!!

...and some just fit like ass in pants! :)

It's the most Wonderful time of the year.....

Quoting the famous Christmas Carol! IT IS FINALLY WARM IN CENTRAL NEBRASKA......this has been the longest winter I must say that FINALLY my first day wearing shorts and a T-shirt....and it rocked! I was hot, sweaty and happy to be outside....

I got all the stuff that Ron and I unloaded from our camper on Saturday in the house....or should I say KRISTIN unloaded from the camper. Ron is very determined to sell our camper and TRUST ME we need to sell our camper, but I am soooooooo sad selling our Dutchman, it is like losing a member of our family! I DO NOT want to sell it but I know we have to....our cabin is so much more convenient for us........

It bugs the hell out of me know that people are in our camper, looking around and taking a look hoping to make it their own. Last year when we had it for sale I knew we wouldn't sell it but this year! I think it is gone!!!!!! and I am a very sad!!!

When he was running third....he was gaining....I whole heartly believe....it was sure determination and totally driving that got my boy a win on Saturday night.

Saturday......

FINALLY! A day mostly to myself. I am spending the day working on a couple of MAJOR projects I have to get done. One is to upload digital layouts and the other is to organize my computer files, which I haven't done for nearly two months. My poor little laptop is FULL of stuff, half of which needs to be deleted and half of which needs to be backed up and stored on my external drive.

I really have NO idea where the month of April went. I swear it was just April 1st now it is nearly May 1st. So much going on between learning our Auction System to keeping up with my Scrapbooking Creative Team Assignments. Nuts I tell ya nuts!

I thought April was going to be much less travel and alot more getting stuff done, but it wasn't. But after next Thursday we don't have an auction until for nearly a month, so I will finally have some time to get all those things done that I have been putting off for so long!

My Major project is to redo my flower beds around my deck...they look like crap!!BUT then there are graduations, weddings, Alumni, anniversaries, reunions and endless other summer activities ahead of us as well. OH man......ok so much for that relaxing summer I have been waiting for!!

Lookie what I got!!

Yesterday my wonderful Husband (with the help of Bob, I think) had flowers delivered to our auction. We both keep saying that they are the most beautiful flowers he has ever gotten me!!



It was such a cool surprise and such a treat to have those beautiful flowers riding along with me in the auction topper....now that was cool! They made me happy!

....and it was an interesting one! Despite the fact that I had to work an auction. It was pretty good. Aunt Carolyn made me this cute little Rice Krispie Birthday treat....Isn't it CUTE!!!

Once the 45 MPH wind went down!! It was almost 80 degrees today and it was much welcomed and much enjoyed. Ron and I spent the day doing some odds and ends at our cabin and then headed out for an evening boat ride.......along the way we met a cute little friend and her cute little family!!



They were just sitting along the bank sunning themselves and they were just tooo cute!!

Fridays ROCK!

Iam so glad to be safe on sound at the cabin.....looking forward to our boat going into the lake for the first time this year!!!!!!
